8/3/2023 0 Comments Silverfast plustek 8200i![]() ![]() It just seem a bit stupid paying that amount for something that old and a Big risque of breaking down and no guarantee or service. ![]() I wish the nikon coolscan was a tad newer. Thank you, yes i have read that criticism in som e review i believe. I do fine with an old Scan Dual for my B&W negs. If you want the bee's knees, go for the Reflecta 10M. ICE is good, but will soften a little (good handling and cleaning is still needed) - it also does not work with black and white film and many implementation have issues with Kodachrome (the cyan dyes block IR). The reviews I've seen tend to be critical of the ICE plusteks because they don't get the resolution they promise - the 135 on the other hand, seemed to give pretty much what it promised. Pretty silly as they can break down at any point. around same range in price the plustek 8200 SE does the ICE etc which in my mind cane be quite convenient scanning old slides etc at some point.īut yeh the prices on those old machines are indeed much too high, its like a rarity just because they are discontinued. But i guess for a fast workflow etc it seems fine for mediocre quality. The reviews on the better scanner site is not that keen on the opticfilm and said its sufficient for facebook and insta pictures. The top flight 35mm ICE scanners from Minolta (5400), Nikon and Canon are great, but second hand prices are silly for 20 year old kit. The Reflecta RPS 10M does the works - around 750, but IR, Batch and decent resolution. If I was going to get a Plustek, I'd go for the Optikfilm 135 - no IR channel, but delivers the resolution it promises. No i wont use a digital camera but want a dedicated filmscanner. Im not gosig to do any professional work with the film scanning, but i do want the best quality i can get for that amount of money right now. ![]() ( obviously used and old machine but everything working and checked. ![]() Reflecta prosan 10T for 500 Euro( without silverfast or vuescan) The scanners: Plustek 8200ai for 500 Euro new. This may even include the infrared channel for later dust and scratch removal. So i have this up in another thread at film, but just want another opinion overall now when i have nailed down what typ of scanners i can choose from and to what price.
